The panel’s recurring theme was the underdog narrative from both the film and Coyote. But instead of focusing on Warner Bros., the actual company that put the project on hold, the panel criticized the fictional Acme Corp.
At the beginning of the discussion, moderator Paul Scheer stated, “This is purely an Acme decision, and I am saying this for legal purposes.”
The 1990 New Yorker article that satirized Coyote’s legal complaint against Acme, the manufacturer of the TNT, detonators, rocket shoes, catapults, and other items that frequently backfire during the Coyote’s futile attempts to capture the Roadrunner, served as the basis for the live-action/animated hybrid film.
As fans watched a montage of Coyote getting blown up, squashed, and falling into chasms in a sequence choreographed to Johnny Cash’s song of Hurt, laughter erupted throughout Hall H, the enormous 6,000-seat auditorium. An advertisement for a personal injury attorney shows up on television as Coyote is reliving the events in his lair.
Additionally, six minutes of the film were shown, which included a moment during the opening statements of the case where Will Forte, Coyote’s attorney, unintentionally launches a rocket skate into the courtroom, setting Coyote’s and the judge’s robes on fire. The suave Acme lawyer played by John Cena swiftly wins over the jurors, which includes a cartoon figure.
According to Forte, he didn’t believe the film would ever be seen.
I’m at a loss for words. You reflect on the path that this film has taken. At one time, Forte recalled, I had kind of given up hope. At one point, a man dressed as an Acme lawyer interrupted him by barging into Hall H with cease-and-desist letters.
According to director Dave Green, the film follows the famous animator Chuck Jones’ guidelines for the Coyote and Roadrunner’s battle, which include the bird never leaving the road and the Coyote being more embarrassed than harmed when he is crushed, collapses, or is blasted by TNT.
The film will be released on August 28, 2026, and includes cameos from many Looney Tunes characters, including Foghorn Leghorn, Tweety, and Bugs Bunny. Warner Bros. and Ketchup Entertainment collaborated on the movie and the release of The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie.
There will be a puppet episode in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
On Saturday, Paramount revealed that the USS Enterprise’s crew would be transformed into puppets for a future episode of Strange New Worlds. Jim Henson Creature Shop will make the puppets.
Paramount+ is releasing Season 3, which chronicles the exploits of the Enterprise under Capt. Christopher Pike’s leadership.

Comic-Con 2025 is scheduled to take place in downtown San Diego through Sunday, with an anticipated 135,000 attendees.
Fans have already seen sneak peeks of Predator: Badlands, which opens in theaters in November.
