Frankfort, Kentucky — Three people were arrested and charged with child sex crimes on Wednesday. One of them used to teach and coach basketball at Franklin County High School.
Jonathan Moore, 40, was arrested around 6 p.m. in Frankfort and charged with first-degree unlawful transaction with a minor, first-degree sexual abuse, unlawful use of electronic means to induce a minor to engage in sexual or other prohibited activities, and use of a minor under 18 in a sexual performance.
According to court records, these crimes took place between February and April 2023.
Moore worked as a STEP teacher at Franklin County High School from 2021 to 2023, according to his LinkedIn profile. From 2021 to 2023, he was also the head coach of the high school boys’ basketball team, according to records from the Kentucky High School Athletic Association.
Moore was locked up in the Franklin County Regional Jail with a $250,000 bond.
Court records show that his hearing is set for Friday, August 16.
