COOPERSTOWNIt was more simpler for CC Sabathia to be elected into the Hall of Fame than it was to be admitted.
On his first year of eligibility, Sabathia, who played for the Cleveland Indians, Milwaukee Brewers, and New York Yankees for 19 seasons, was voted in.

His induction on Sunday was the culmination of the Hall of Fame weekend celebrations in Cooperstown.
On Saturday, Sabathia described it as an adventure.
At approximately 4 p.m. on Thursday, Sabathia, her spouse Amber, and their four kids departed their Alpine, New Jersey, residence. They were about 75 miles (120 kilometers) into their 177-mile journey when things became interesting. As is their family tradition, they traveled in two automobiles.
We took a break to eat. According to Sabathia, everything is going really well. The car simply stopped when we attempted to enter the on-ramp on Route 17. Behind her (Amber) was me. When we’re driving, I’m usually gone. For some reason, I was taking my time riding after her, even though I seldom drive behind her.
Sabathia could see exactly what was going on. They made a help call. While a tow crew towed their broken-down Escalade back to Alpine, the family hopped into Sabathia’s car and went home to get another automobile.
Around midnight, the Sabathias reached Cooperstown. What should have been a three-hour drive took eight hours to complete.
It was quite humorous. I was photographing. “Amber was in the back like the really serious person who is getting everything done,” Sabathia remarked, while my kids were working on TikToks. On the side of the road, people were recognizing us and honking at us. We had a good time.
It was a nightmare for her.
Amber and the rest of the Sabathias will undoubtedly be beaming on Sunday.
