Body of Missing 3-year-old Found in St. Johns River, Bringing Boating Tragedy Death Toll to Four

According to the Duval County Medical Examiner’s Office, the last person missing, a three-year-old child, in the March 21 boating catastrophe that sent eight people into the St. Johns River, was discovered dead Monday, bringing the total death toll to four.

She was pulled from the river near Tallyrand. According to the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission, construction contractors working near the port on the north bank of the St. Johns River discovered the body near the shore.

According to the FWC, an FWC patrol vessel performing surface searches in the vicinity reacted, and the medical examiner recovered the body.

“This is an ongoing investigation; we will provide additional information as it becomes available,” the FWC stated. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim’s family during this difficult time.”

She was pulled from the river near Tallyrand. No additional information is available at this time.

A family acquaintance also told First Coast News that the youngster, Victoria Marin, had been discovered.

Victoria has gone missing since the accident. Her father, Jacksonville real estate agent Cristian Marin, as well as her grandmother and sibling, had already recovered.

Four other people survived the disaster, including the children’s mother.
