Binghamton, NY Weather Alert: Showers and Thunderstorms Expected Tuesday Night Through Wednesday

Binghamton, NY – A brief stretch of sunshine across the Southern Tier of New York will give way to showers and isolated thunderstorms starting Tuesday night, bringing gusty winds and heavy rain to parts of the Binghamton area.

Storms Return Tuesday Night

According to the National Weather Service Binghamton, scattered showers are expected to develop after 2 a.m. Tuesday night, continuing through Wednesday evening. Rain may become heavy at times, and gusty winds could make travel challenging on Interstate 81 and Route 17 during Wednesday’s commute.

Areas Most at Risk

Cities including Endicott, Johnson City, and Vestal are likely to experience the heaviest rainfall Wednesday afternoon, coinciding with the peak of the storm window. While total rainfall is not expected to cause flooding, slick roadways and reduced visibility could slow drivers across Broome and Tioga counties.

The National Weather Service advises residents to keep outdoor plans flexible and monitor for any updated advisories as conditions change.

Improving Conditions Later in the Week

By Thursday, skies are expected to partly clear, with highs near 80°F, leading into a warmer stretch. Friday and Saturday are projected to be the warmest days, with temperatures reaching into the low 80s under mostly sunny skies.

Binghamton Five-Day Forecast
