Nevada’s Reno This is part of a larger event where President Joe Biden canceled the loans of more than 200,000 people across the country, including more than 3,000 Nevadans.
The Biden government says that with this latest debt relief, it has now taken away $967 million in debt for 22,710 people in Nevada.
“Today, my administration is canceling student loans for an additional 277,000 people. This brings the total number of Americans who have been approved for debt relief under my administration to 4.3 million borrowers through a variety of actions.” President Biden said, “These 277,000 borrowers are either in my administration’s SAVE Plan or were given relief because of changes we made to Income-Driven Repayment Plans and Public Service Loan Forgiveness.”
“From the first day I took office, I promised to fight to make sure that college is a way to get into the middle class and not a way to avoid opportunities.” No matter how many times Republicans in Congress try to stop us, I will never stop working to get rid of student loans.
In this round, 3,020 Nevadans had their college loans forgiven. These people were in the SAVE Plan and had low-balance loans, according to the Biden administration. The SAVE Plan has more than 66,000 Nevadans signed up.
