Randolph, MA – A tense armed robbery at a local gas station on Tuesday afternoon prompted a police search that ended with two cruisers colliding, according to authorities.
Armed Robbery Incident
The robbery occurred around 1:20 p.m. at the Prestige Gas Station on North Main Street. Police said the suspect was armed with a semiautomatic handgun and demanded money from the clerk. Surveillance footage captured the suspect pointing the weapon at the employee while shouting, “all the money now.”
Suspect Description
Officials are seeking a 6-foot-tall man wearing a ski mask, white T-shirt, blue or olive green shorts, black-and-white sneakers, black gloves, a blue Red Sox ballcap, and carrying a gray plastic bag. Witnesses say the suspect fled on foot toward the nearby Randolph Cafe.
Simon Massih, a manager at the gas station, noted, “The cashier is afraid, so he left,” adding that the location has been targeted by robbers before.
Police Response and Cruiser Crash
During the search for the suspect, two police cruisers collided at the intersection of Mitchell and Royal streets. The drivers were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A damaged fence was observed at the scene.
