An individual from Sioux City who was wanted for vehicular homicide charges related to a collision that occurred in the downtown area in October of last year has been taken into custody in Alabama.
At approximately one o’clock on Thursday afternoon, a United States Marshal in Alabama made an arrest of Wesley Louis Staten, who is 31 years old. Which individuals are a part of the regional fugitive task group for the Gulf Coast?
Staten has been charged with two counts of vehicular homicide in the local court system. As a result of a collision involving two vehicles that occurred on October 13th, a man named Terry Alan Frisbie, who was 51 years old and from Sioux City, and a woman named Judy Lee Jordan, who was 50 years old and from Le Mars, both passed away at the intersection of 6th and Wesley Parkway.
According to the authorities, Staten was allegedly driving a Ford Expedition westbound on 6th Street at a high rate of speed when he ran a red light and collided with a Ford Fusion traveling northbound at that intersection. Both of the victims were located inside the Ford Fusion.
Staten is currently located in the Jefferson County Jail in Birmingham, Alabama, where he is being held without bond in anticipation of his extradition to Sioux City.
