On Sunday, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said that Sen. John Fetterman was mean for saying that the House of Representatives was like “The Jerry Springer Show.” Fr. Fetterman responded by saying that she was wrong.
“Oh, well, of course, that’s silly.” I was just answering to the chaos and all the other things that Rep. Greene started. Fetterman told CNN’s Jake Tapper, “If everyone on the committee was proud of what they made, they have every right to their opinion, or if they think this is the kind of video you want to send to a classroom of 8th-grade civics students across America.” “That’s their choice.”
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., and Ocasio-Cortez got into a fight on Thursday, and Fetterman joked that the House of Representatives was worse than “The Jerry Springer Show.”
She replied to Fetterman on social media by writing, “I stand up to bullies instead of becoming one.”
Ocasio-Cortez wrote, “I understand you probably wouldn’t have stood up for your coworker and seem to be confused about racism and misogyny being a “both sides” issue.”
The House Oversight Committee met Thursday night to find Attorney General Merrick Garland guilty of contempt for not turning over an audio recording of President Biden’s conversation with a special counsel when he was asked to do so.
But things quickly got out of hand at the meeting. A little over an hour into the meeting, Greene made fun of Rep. Jasmine Crockett of Texas, a Democrat.
“Do you know why we’re here?” When Crockett asked Greene, he replied, “I think your fake eyelashes are making it hard for you to read.”
There were groans in the room as House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer begged for order.
“I do have a point of order, and I would like to move to take down Ms. Greene’s words,” Ocasio-Cortez said. That is totally not okay. How dare you criticize someone’s looks… “Lower her words.”
“Are you upset about something?” Greene asked.
“Oh girl, little girl!” She replied, “Ayesha Cortez.” “Don’t play at all!”
