A Woman Was Stabbed Several Times at Miami International Airport. A Man is Being Charged With Attempted Murder

Police say a man stabbed a woman several times and tried to throw her over a railing at Miami International Airport on Saturday night. The guy is now in jail.

Jail records show that Alexander Paul Love is being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a first-degree attempted murder charge. The 29-year-old was taken to jail on Sunday afternoon.

Police say the woman was struck “without provocation” just after 11:30 p.m. on the pre-security area of the fourth floor of MIA’s Concourse J. She was able to get out to the third floor, where police found her and arrested Love. The police say they also found a knife at the scene.

Police said in a news release that the woman was still in serious condition at Ryder Trauma Center.

The investigation is still going on, police said Sunday. “Detectives are in the process of speaking with the subject.”

Love was arrested in Ohio in 2016 on a misdemeanor domestic abuse charge, according to public records. Soon after, that case was thrown out. Though it’s not clear if Love still lives in South Florida, court records show that he was arrested in Miami-Dade in 2023 for minor crimes.

In the chaos that followed the stabbing, police were called to the scene of what they thought was an active shooter. However, it turned out that the report was false.

A spokesperson for the MIA said that all people in concourses H and J had to leave the area and were then re-screened. Around 1:30 a.m., things went back to normal.
