EULESS — CAIR, or the Council on American-Islamic Relations, wants people to know about the arrest of a woman in Euless last month.
She is charged with trying to kill a three-year-old girl in an apartment pool after calling her mother racist names.
This took place at a pool in an apartment building in the 2500 block of Highway 360.
Euless cops said that on May 19, someone reported a fight between two women. When they got there, Elizabeth Wolf, 42, was jailed for being drunk in public.
Officers said the other woman, a mother of six, said Wolf had asked her where she was from and said she wasn’t American before grabbing her son, who was six years old at the time. The son fought back.
“It caused him a scratch and so as the mother was attending to him, she grabbed a three-year-old daughter and pulled that daughter deeper into the pool and forced the three-year-old daughter under the water,” Captain Alvarado said.
The police said that people who saw what happened helped her. When the medics arrived, both kids were okay. Wolf was charged with child abuse and attempted murder death.
“It’s pretty scary,” Nikki Harwell, a renter, said. “Sure, it could happen anywhere if it can happen here.” This neighborhood is very safe; it’s lit up at night and has a gate.
Now, CAIR wants both state and federal police to look into this as a hate crime.
