COLUMBIA, SC – More than a dozen people from South Carolina have been charged with drug dealing by a federal grand jury in Columbia.
The indictment says that starting in January 2016, 13 people worked together to have large amounts of cocaine, fentanyl, and methamphetamine to sell them.
Ten people were charged in federal court on Wednesday:
Quincey Jackson, 40, lives in Columbia.
Gayton, 32, from Rock Hill
Columbia’s 42-year-old Elijah Rhodes
This is Desane Washington, 19, of Summerton.
Shane Bennett, 32, from Summerton
30-year-old Byron Canty from Rowesville
James Croslen Jr., 48, of Summerton
He is 46 years old and lives in Columbia.
He is 43 years old and from Rock Hill.
Columbia’s 46-year-old Richard Ragin
Authorities say that three suspects are still on the run.
This case is being looked into as part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) probe.
According to Adair F. Boroughs, the U.S. attorney, all charges in the indictment are just claims, and defendants are thought to be innocent until proven guilty.
