A Mother Was Charged After Her Son Was Taken From a Pool in Myrtle Beach Over the July 4 Weekend

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — There was an incident with her son at a Myrtle Beach swimming pool over the July 4 weekend, and a 43-year-old woman has been charged.

Ana Luisa Beccerra-Lira is charged with one count of putting a child in danger without permission. Information about bonds was not open to the public.

On Friday, it took place at the Caribbean Resort, 3000 N. Ocean Blvd., according to the police. The boy and his mother were seen on video in the pool area. Police say that Beccerra-Lira walks away after taking pictures of the child in a small hot tub.

The event was called a “drowning” in a report. Chief Deputy Coroner for Horry County Tamara Willard told News13 on Wednesday that she didn’t know of any deaths that were connected to the event.

The actress then sits in a lounge chair, out of sight of the child, who got out of the hot tub and jumped into a five-foot-deep pool. The child was in the water for six minutes before being pulled out and CPR was given.

A police report says, “The defendant had no idea where the victim was or that he had been pulled from the pool and CPR was being given.”

The child’s status wasn’t known right away.
