ORLANDO, Fla. – Deputies said a man from Georgia was arrested in downtown Orlando after they said he beat up his girlfriend and killed a man who tried to help.
According to police records, Jordan Talley, who is 27 years old, was charged with manslaughter and domestic battery after an incident on March 31, 2024, that killed Donald Storie, who was 64 years old.
Around 1:40 a.m., Talley was caught on video beating up a woman in front of a law office near the corner of Robinson Street and Magnolia Avenue. Sheriff’s officers say Talley grabbed the woman by her hair and threw her to the ground.
It is said that Storie heard the woman begging for help while walking in the same area with his wife, daughter, and fiancé. His family told the officers that he went toward the woman and was punched by Talley when he got close to the couple.
Detectives could track Talley’s car back to his home in Georgia by looking at more surveillance video of him and his lover getting into it.
When police questioned Talley, he admitted to punching Storie and said he did it because he was “concerned” about her safety.
Storie passed away on April 23 after CPR was turned off.
