According to law police, a couple from Florida is being charged with criminal offenses for allegedly fabricating a lottery victory of one million dollars.
The investigators reported that they did not have a great deal of difficulty uncovering the swindle.
According to the officials, the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office was not fooled by a lottery ticket that was modified and cost fifty dollars.
Now, a pair from Walton County is being accused with attempting to fool people into thinking that they had a million-dollar ticket.
According to the officials, there is a tear that can be seen directly in the middle of the ticket.
According to officials from the Florida Lottery, it is actually two tickets that were stitched together in an awkward manner.
“They had a person who believed that they could, they could crudely take two tickets and put them together and pretend as if they were a million-dollar winner,” said Escambia County Sheriff Chip Simmons. “They thought that they could.”
As stated in the police report, the pair provided two completely different accounts on the manner in which they obtained the ticket.
They are being accused of committing fraud.
