In West Tennessee on Monday night, a customer and a fast food worker got into a fight that turned deadly when the customer shot a female worker after an argument.
People were shot and killed just before 9:10 p.m. at a Memphis Church’s Chicken, according to police.
At 9:10 p.m., police were called to the Park Avenue store, which is about six miles southeast of downtown Memphis, for a shooting.
According to a news release, when police arrived, they found a woman who had been shot at least once and took her to the hospital, where she was later declared dead.
Police say that the victim was working at the business when a woman in an SUV pulled into the drive-thru and got into a fight with the worker.
It wasn’t clear right away what the two were arguing about.
In the release, cops said, “The teal SUV drove off the lot, and the victim walked outside to get some air.” “A few moments later a gunshot was heard and the teal-colored SUV was seen on video speeding off the parking lot.”
Soon after, the person who had been shot was found in the parking lot.
Police had not said the victim’s name or age as of Tuesday.
USA TODAY has talked to the Memphis cops and Church’s Chicken.
Police said that the person caught on camera arguing with the worker was a woman with purple hair who was driving a teal-colored small SUV.
On Tuesday, no one had been arrested in the case, which cops said was still being looked into.
