Wisconsin Man Arrested for Alleged Cocaine and Methamphetamine Distribution

La Porte, Indiana — A Wisconsin man has been arrested on multiple charges of trafficking cocaine and methamphetamine.

Maurice Willams, 29, of Milwaukee, was discovered on Friday when deputies from the Laporte County Sheriff’s Office observed him exceeding the speed limit on U.S. 20 by up to 45 miles per hour.

A motor vehicle pursuit ensued after Williams failed to halt, stopping as Williams moved away. Later that evening, deputies from the Lake County Sheriff’s Department spotted the vehicle and resumed pursuit.

Willams then smashed into the rear of a semi-trailer and attempted to flee on foot before being apprehended.

Willams is currently being held in the Laporte County Jail on various accusations, including cocaine and methamphetamine distribution, possession of a firearm by a major violent criminal, and resisting law officers.
