COMMERCE CITY, Colo. – Police in Colorado are looking for the person who broke a dog’s spine by throwing it out the window of a moving car.
Police in Commerce City said the terrible event took place on November 23. The dog was thrown out the passenger side window, which is what the police heard.
A kind person saw what happened and tried to help the dog before the police arrived, according to the authorities. When the first rescuers got there, they took him to an emergency vet.
People said the dog was in “tremendous pain and unable to move” because his back was broken. He had to be put down.
Later, police said they heard from the dog’s owner, who said the dog had been in the garden when the owner left, but had not come back when the owner came back.
The person or people who did this would be charged with aggravated animal abuse, according to the police.
