Arlington police say that two people were shot and killed at an apartment building near AT&T Stadium on Saturday night.

A statement from the department says that around 10:20 p.m., police were called to the building in the 600 block of Slaughter Street because shots had been fired.

When police arrived, they saw two people, a 19-year-old guy and an 18-year-old woman, who looked like they had been shot.

People at the scene said the man was dead. It was said that the woman died at a nearby hospital after being taken there badly hurt.

A statement from the police says that after hearing gunshots, witnesses saw a group of people run from the direction of the apartment, get into a car, and leave the scene.

Police say that the victims didn’t live in the apartment building and had only rented it for the weekend through a short-term rental site. Nothing was stolen from them.

The woman who died was named by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office as Alexis Johniyah Tyler from Mesquite. The man has not been named by the press yet.

Officials say that no one has been arrested yet and that police are searching the area for proof and to find any suspects.
