An unexpected store is closing all of its shops in Illinois and across the US, just a few months after merging with another store.
Foxtrot is a high-end convenience store chain that opened in Chicago in 2015. It is closing all 33 of its stores and its online shop that ships across the country.
Dom’s Website sent a message to guests of Foxtrot and Dom’s Kitchen letting them know about the shutters.
Places in Dallas, Washington, D.C., and Austin will also be affected by the shutdown.
Foxtrot is a high-end convenience shop that started in Chicago and has grown to over 30 locations across the country since 2015.
Its first site in Fulton Market solidified it as a brand, similar to how the West Loop has changed over the past ten years as an industrial hub.
Crain says that Dom’s Kitchen only opened in 2021, but they quickly announced plans to open new sites. They had originally planned to open 15 new stores by 2025.
A sign at the 1233 N. Wells Street site in Old Town was the first place where shoppers learned that Dom’s was closing.
The two companies said they would be merging at the end of 2023. They want to change the way people shop for groceries and improve quality by selling carefully chosen items.
