Police say that five people were hurt in a shooting late Monday night in the Bronx and Brooklyn.
When gunfire broke out on Nostrand Ave. near Rutland Ave. in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, two male teens (one 16 and the other 18) and a 26-year-old man were hurt, police said.
The 18-year-old and the 26-year-old were both hit in the belly by the police who arrived. Police say the youngest person was hit in the shoulder and back.
There was no harm done to the 18-year-old when he was rushed to SUNY Downstate Medical Center. Police say the other victims were also taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County and are in safe condition.
So far, no one has been caught.
After hours of chaos, two women, aged 28 and 29, were hurt in a drive-by shooting at 7:30 p.m. on E. 165th St. near Third Ave. in Morrisania, according to police and police sources.
The older woman was found with a gunshot wound to her left thigh. Police say the younger woman was hit in the right leg and arm.
The two were rushed to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln by medics. Both were in safe condition when they arrived.
At the scene, two people were arrested, but no charges were brought right away.
Police sources say that investigators think the victims in both killings were picked out.
