This week, the FBI searched the home on Long Island of a person who used to work for New York Gov. Kathy Hochul.
Linda Sun lives in a $3.5 million home with five bedrooms in a gated community on the North Shore of Long Island. Federal agents searched the home.
A spokesman for the FBI told Fox News Digital, “The FBI New York did court-authorized law enforcement in Manhasset.” The government didn’t say why the house was chosen as a target.
Fox News Digital has tried to get in touch with Hochul’s office.
The New York Post said that neither Sun, 40, nor her husband, Chris Hu, 41, have been charged with any crimes and that no one has been arrested.
Paul Mauro, a lawyer and Fox News contributor said, “There is no official accusation of wrongdoing, but a judge had to sign off on this search warrant, and searching someone’s home is very invasive.” “There must be some indicia of wrongdoing for the judge to have approved it.”
To do the raid, the US Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn got a search warrant. A representative for the office told Fox News Digital that they would not say anything about the situation.
In March, Sun and her husband gave their home to a trust, as shown by property records. Sun was one of Hochul’s deputy chiefs of staff and also worked for Andrew Cuomo, who was governor of New York from 2011 to 2013.
Her profile says that Sun worked for Hochul and was interested in business growth, issues affecting Asian Americans, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Eighteen months into her job, she quit and went to work for the New York State Department of Labor in 2022.
Some say she was fired last year because of “evidence of misconduct,” and she quit her job with the government. The source said that the suspected wrongdoing was reported to the police.
The Post claimed that Sun’s husband runs a liquor store in Queens where at least one bottle of wine near the door costs $700.
