Kansas Man Crafts Massive Kamala Harris Portrait in Field Following Biden's Withdrawal from Presidential Race

As a tribute to Vice President Kamala Harris, a guy from Kansas is sending a political message through art that is based on farming.

Stan Herd, who started and owns Stan Herd Arts and works with Earthworks, painted a big painting of Vice President Kamala Harris in a field in Lawrence, Kansas. Harris is now running for president on the Democratic ticket.

“I have been a progressive for a long time.” “I’ve long thought that women should be in charge, not just in the US but all over the world,” Herd said when asked why he painted the picture.

Herd said that this wasn’t the first piece of art he had made about the vice president. There was also a painting of her and Biden when they were elected four years ago.

“I created a portrait of Kamala Harris back then as his VP, hoping that Biden would fulfill his promise to be a stepping stone to the new generation,” said Herd.

Herd said that the picture was made from natural materials found on Earth and took 12 days of work and 25 yards of mulch.

“It’s just exciting to be involved and traveling around the country,” said Herd. “I want it to reach people and make a difference.”

“I started to work on a piece about Gretchen Whitmer and even laid out the picture, but then something happened that made me realize I had to wait.” We put a question mark there two days ago. We will get to work as soon as possible after she or the party decides on the next vice president. “After that, we’ll be making that portrait out in the field,” Herd said.

Because of his work, Herd knows that getting hurt could happen at any time. He said that if that did happen, it would just be another part of his story.

“It is time to take the temperature down in this political thing, and it’s not going to go down in the next four months, but I hope it does when this comes to its conclusion,” said Herd.

Herd is 73 years old and from Kansas. He has been making art for 40 years and it has been shown in 13 states in the U.S. and China, Cuba, Australia, and Brazil.
