CHICAGO — While on parole for 12 felonies, a man was caught last week after breaking into a house and meeting a homeowner armed with a cast iron frying pan. Records show that the man gave police a fake name.
Documents about the arrest and detention order show that the person who was caught gave the name Brandon Williams. An arrest record says that he was on parole through the Illinois Department of Corrections the day after he was arrested outside of a home in Logan Square. This was confirmed by his fingerprints.
Reporters from CWB Chicago said the suspect’s name is Bradley Willenborg. IDOC records show that a man with that name and the photo provided was released in March after serving time on parole for burglary. He has a criminal history that includes convictions for drug possession, forgery, burglary, possession of a stolen vehicle, and possession of drugs in six Illinois counties going back to 2014.
The suspect was arrested on Thursday after the homeowner’s security business called the police. Jason Williams, the homeowner, rushed to his home on the 3400 block of West Parker Avenue after getting a call. There, he met the thief and used a frying pan to scare him away.
The homeowner told WGN, “He seemed just as shocked as I was when we ran into each other downstairs, and he was really shocked when he got hit with the frying pan.”
The suspect is accused of breaking into a house, breaking parole, and severe battery. The police report says he spat on a nurse while being checked out at the hospital.
