Police say a drunk woman struck a 10-year-old boy and bit a police officer who was trying to arrest her on a pool day that turned bad.
A news report from the Wildwood Crest Police Department says that the woman, Fallen Turner, who lives in Philadelphia, attacked the child at a motel in Wildwood Crest, New Jersey, on the afternoon of June 17.
Police were called to the motel, which was named by Philadelphia’s 6 ABC as the Waikiki Oceanfront Inn after witnesses said that Turner, 43, was fighting with a child at the pool.
Authorities say that people who saw her at the scene said she was “highly drunk” and “out of control.” 6 ABC reported that a different witness told cops that Turner had been drinking tequila all day.
Police say Turner “grabbed an unrelated 10-year-old male juvenile and swung him around in the pool, dunking him underwater” while she was drunk. Turner is said to have “jumped on his back and grabbed him inappropriately” when the 10-year-old’s father tried to stop the fight.
When cops tried to talk to Turner, they said she “became belligerent.” She was then arrested, but she resisted.
She “resisted his control and pushed the arresting officer in the face,” according to the police. During processing, she was “highly uncooperative and combative,” even biting an officer’s hand.
Police said that no cops were hurt in the fight, though.
“She got angry when she was told that the people didn’t want her involved,” Wildwood Crest Police Chief Robert Lloyd told 6 ABC. “She became very disruptive and did some very inappropriate things.”
The source also said that Lloyd thought Wildwood Crest was a good place for families, but since COVID-19 spread, the department has seen more cases like Turner’s.
He said, “It’s too bad.” “If you talk to the police on vacation, you ruin your vacation and the vacations of other people who are just trying to have fun with you.”
People asked the Waikiki Oceanfront Inn for a word, but they didn’t answer right away.
Turner was charged with endangering the welfare of children in the third degree, two counts of aggravated assault on police in the third degree, resisting arrest with force in the third degree, criminal sexual contact in the fourth degree, harassment in the fourth degree, disorderly conduct in the fourth degree, and failing to allow fingerprinting.
Jail records seen by PEOPLE also show that she wouldn’t let the cops take her blood for their DNA database.
Turner is being held at the Cape May County Correctional Facility right now. She may have a lawyer, but it’s not clear if they can speak for her.
