A man was caught after a long manhunt on the ground and in the air. He is suspected of killing one person and hurting two others in a shooting early Sunday morning at a hotel in Colorado.
On Sunday night, the city of Alamosa posted on Facebook that the person they thought might have been involved in the killing, who they named as Henry Corral, had been found.
The Sunset Inn Hotel was the scene of gunfire just after 2 a.m. Sunday, according to a Facebook post from the city. Police arrived and found three people who had been shot.
Two of the people who were hurt were flown to the hospital in serious condition, but the third person who was hurt died.
The offender ran away. Before, the police said that he was “considered armed and dangerous.”
Then Corral crashed the car he was driving as he tried to get away, according to the police. Officials say that after he hit, he tried to steal a car but failed, which made him run away.
On Sunday, 40 police officers and five planes were searching the area for Corral, “going door to door, building to building.”
The U.S. Marshals Service and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation were said to be helping with the search.
Officials say that Corral was wanted by police on two counts of attempted first-degree murder, one count of first-degree murder, one count of tampering with physical evidence, and one count of having a weapon while being a previous offender and illegal attempt of aggravated robbery.
A little city in southern Colorado called Alamosa has just under 10,000 people living in it. Nearby is New Mexico, 30 miles away, and Colorado Springs, 165 miles away to the southwest.
