Monday, a U.S. district court in Kentucky stopped the new Title IX rights for transgender people in Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee, Indiana, Virginia, and West Virginia that were put in place by the Biden administration.
As the host of the “Gaines for Girls” show and a former NCAA swimmer, Riley Gaines called the decision a “huge win for humanity.”
“This is a huge victory for women and girls, but it’s a huge victory for everyone.” As Gaines said on Fox News’ “America Reports” on Tuesday, “It’s a win for objective truth.”
If you remember, Gaines fought for justice in women’s sports after she lost to transgender swimmer Lia Thomas and Thomas won a Division I title in 2022.
“Being so clear and firm about my stance has made me feel more hopeful in the last few weeks than at any other time in the past two years. I have a lot of hope. I believe that the house of cards of gender theory is quickly falling apart.
Gaines, who runs the Riley Gaines Center at the Leadership Institute, talked about how “traumatizing” it was to race against Thomas and be naked next to the trans swimmer in the changing room.
“To put it simply, I felt betrayed.” “It did feel like a violation, and it was very upsetting,” she said. “A 6-foot-4 man wearing nothing, showing everything, right next to where we were taking off all our clothes at the same time.”
“But it was scary for me to know how easy it was for the people who made and enforced these rules to ignore our rights to privacy without giving it a second thought or even just telling us that we would be sharing this changing space.” In other words, that’s what the Biden government is telling young girls like me.
The Biden Title IX rule was thrown out by a federal judge last week in Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, and Idaho.
The New Hampshire senate passed a bill last month that says transgender athletes in grades 5 through 12 can’t play against other athletes of the same gender.
A couple of weeks before the New Hampshire bill was passed, Arkansas Governor Sarah Sanders signed an order in answer to the new Title IX rules. Sanders was “appalled” by the “attack on common sense.”
At least 20 states have passed some form of a national ban on transgender athletes playing on K–12 and college sports teams.
