At a preliminary hearing for 15 Republicans who had been charged with election fraud for planning to send fake electors to the January 6, 2021, electoral vote count, a state investigator revealed that Donald Trump, his advisor Rudy Giuliani, and Mark Meadows, who used to be White House chief of staff, were all thought to be unindicted co-conspirators in the case.
The news came out as Howard Shock, a detective for the Michigan Attorney General’s office, was being questioned by a lawyer for Michele Lundgren, who is accused of being a fake elector.
“Finally, former President Donald Trump?” ABC News says Silverthorn asked.
“Yes,” Shock swore.
The state is looking into the acts of Trump and others, but it’s not clear how far they are going. However, The Detroit News got a recording that shows Trump telling two election officials in the state not to certify the vote. Michigan isn’t the only place looking into whether Republicans close to the former President cheated on the election.
In Arizona, prosecutors are also going after fake voters and released charges against Kelli Ward, the former chair of the Arizona Republican Party, and others on Wednesday evening.
The unindicted co-conspirator standing in Michigan comes at a time when Trump’s campaign is facing a number of legal challenges, such as a fraud appeal in New York and a criminal trial over hush money payments to Stormy Daniels.
