Franksville, Wisconsin – On many of his electronic devices, police found pictures and videos of child pornography and they arrested a 78-year-old man from Wisconsin.
The Racine County Sheriff’s Office says that Thomas Firmani, 78, has been marked as a person of interest in having child pornography as part of an ongoing probe.
On April 12, the police searched Firmani’s home with a warrant. At the time, Firmani was said to have denied getting or having any kind of child pornography.
Investigators took many tech items from Firmani’s home when the search warrant was over. Analysts used investigative techniques to look through the devices and found many pictures and videos of child pornography.
He was caught on Monday and taken to the Racine County Jail, where he is being held on ten counts of child pornography. His bail is $500,000.
Firmani is said to have told detectives that he downloaded, watched, and had child pornography on his computer.
Racine County Sheriff Schmaling said, “Even though these investigations take a lot of work and skill, the sheriff’s office will not back down from our duty and commitment to protect the innocence of children.”
Firmani isn’t officially charged yet, but that’s likely to change soon. There were no other information given.
