Atlanta, Georgia – Critical fire weather conditions are impacting much of north and central Georgia on Tuesday as a Red Flag Warning remains in effect from noon through 7 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.
Why the Red Flag Warning Was Issued
The warning was issued by the National Weather Service office in Peachtree City due to a dangerous combination of gusty northwest winds, very low relative humidity, and dry vegetation across the region.

The Red Flag Warning includes north and central Georgia, covering the Atlanta metropolitan area and multiple nearby counties. Portions of the Chattahoochee and Oconee National Forests are also included, where fuel dryness further elevates the risk.
