Lexington, SC – Deputies in Lexington County say a routine traffic stop on Interstate 20 earlier this month uncovered a significant quantity of fentanyl, firearms, and multiple other narcotics. Deputies conducted the stop near mile marker 47 on Interstate 20, where they encountered 26-year-old Jonathon Shockley and 25-year-old Emily Gomez, both from Lexington County. Authorities say the encounter quickly escalated after evidence of narcotics activity surfaced.

Gomez was charged with trafficking fentanyl and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to deputies.

- More than $76,000 in cash
