Tennessee Teen Faces Multiple Charges After Choking Pregnant Girlfriend, Attempting to Stab Her

Nashville, TN – A Tennessee teenager has been arrested after allegedly choking and kicking his pregnant girlfriend during a violent altercation, attempting to stab her in the stomach, and then threatening to “shoot up the home” when she successfully kicked him out of her residence, according to Nashville Police.

Incident Details: Teen Arrested After Choking Pregnant Girlfriend

The horrific incident occurred in May when Brandon Grigsby, 18, is said to have become violent during a dispute with his pregnant girlfriend. Authorities report that Grigsby choked, kicked, and attempted to stab the victim in her stomach before firing shots into the air and threatening further violence. The victim managed to get him out of her home, which prompted Grigsby’s alarming threats of violence.

“Brandon Grigsby had six outstanding warrants, mainly related to domestic violence incidents this year,” police said in their official statement.

Grigsby Faces Charges for Two Separate Violent Incidents

In addition to the alleged May assault, Grigsby is also facing charges for another violent incident in June. During an argument with a family member, he allegedly threw bleach into their eyes. At the time, the case was dismissed due to witness availability. However, a recent grand jury indictment has linked Grigsby to both violent acts, bringing him up on multiple charges.

Authorities have now formally charged Grigsby with two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of domestic assault, harassment, and theft, after he was arrested Wednesday at his mother’s home.

Law Enforcement’s Efforts and Arrest Details

Police were able to track Grigsby to his mother’s home on Wednesday night. He was found with a 16-year-old, and the two attempted to flee from officers in a BMW. However, the vehicle was disabled after a brief chase, and both individuals were taken into custody without further incident.

Along with assault and harassment charges, Grigsby is facing felony weapon possession and marijuana possession charges after a backpack containing 40 grams of marijuana and a pistol were found in the car. The 16-year-old accomplice has been charged with felony evading arrest and is being processed through juvenile court.

Police Statement: A Violent History

Authorities confirmed that the teen, Grigsby, had been involved in multiple violent incidents this year, including his prior domestic assault charges. Despite the severity of the alleged offenses, police had previously been unable to pursue charges due to witness availability issues. However, the grand jury indictments have now brought justice closer for the victims involved.
