Police reports indicate that the shooting occurred early Sunday morning at the home of a 21-year-old host and his teenage brother. Gonzalez and Ramos were both guests at the sleepover. According to an arrest affidavit, Ramos retrieved one of his two guns from a dresser, pointed it at Gonzalez, and shot him in the right temple and upper arm.
Gonzalez was immediately transported to Carolina Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. A GoFundMe post by the family notes that medical staff indicated the boy is unlikely to survive.
