Tempe, AZ – A 32-year-old Arizona man allegedly carried out an extremely vicious attack on his romantic partner inside his apartment after discovering she used his vape without permission, leaving her with 36 documented head injuries and other severe trauma, prosecutors say.
Brutal Assault Details
According to Maricopa County prosecutors, Nicholas Vincuillo reportedly slammed the victim into walls, punched her, and strangled her until she nearly lost consciousness.
“The victim was beaten beyond recognition,” said prosecutor Dawn Sauer during Vincuillo’s bond hearing, as reported.
“She had 36 documented injuries to her head alone. The forensic nurse described the injuries as being in the top five worst she has ever seen.”
Court records indicate the attack occurred Sunday inside Vincuillo’s apartment near Loop 101 and Rio Salado Parkway. The assault reportedly began after he noticed the victim using his vape while he was showering.
Additional Acts During the Assault
Prosecutors say Vincuillo threw the woman into a bathroom, threatened her with a gun, forced her to clean up blood, and disposed of her clothing. During the attack, he allegedly called her derogatory names and pressed the barrel of his gun to her forehead.
Police reports note that Vincuillo claimed affiliation with an outlaw motorcycle gang, a statement the responding officer believed was meant to intimidate the victim, echoing threats to a previous domestic violence victim.
Victim’s Injuries and Escape
The victim sustained severe injuries including:
- Orbital fracture
- Fracture to left hand
- Multiple contusions and lacerations across the head
She reported that Vincuillo forced her to take Xanax pills and had been using Xanax, cocaine, and alcohol prior to the assault. The woman managed to escape the apartment, drove to a nearby In-N-Out Burger, and called police. Paramedics met her there.
Evidence Collected
Authorities reportedly discovered a plastic bag containing a MacBook, iPhone, victim’s clothing, and cleaning wipes in a trash compactor at Vincuillo’s apartment. The night before the assault, he allegedly told the woman to “stop talking to other people” after she revealed seeing someone else.
Legal Charges and Bond
Vincuillo has a prior domestic violence history. He now faces multiple felony charges, including:
- Aggravated assault
- Tampering with evidence
The judge granted a cash-only bond of $250,000, as reported by KSAZ.
Safety and Awareness
Authorities remind residents to take domestic violence reports seriously, report threats promptly, and seek help immediately if in danger. Early intervention can prevent escalation and protect victims.
Conclusion
This case highlights the extreme dangers of domestic violence and the importance of community awareness. Law enforcement continues to monitor Vincuillo’s case closely.
