Three Young Children Lead Police to Parents’ Bodies in Suspected Murder-Suicide in Texas

Houston, TX – Three young children, ages 1, 2, and 3, reportedly led Houston police to the bodies of their parents after going without food and water for at least 24 hours, authorities said. The deaths are under investigation as a suspected murder-suicide.

Children Found Seeking Help

Officers responded to a home at 10940 Meadowglen Lane on Monday evening after the children were seen in their apartment complex parking lot asking neighbors for food. Police arrived around 4:15 p.m., and the children reportedly told them that their parents were inside the apartment, deceased.

Houston Police Lt. Larry Crowson confirmed the children were unharmed and are now being cared for by their grandmother.

Preliminary Investigation Points to Murder-Suicide

Early reports indicate that the father may have shot the mother, though homicide detectives are still investigating to confirm the cause of death and ensure no further threats exist in the area. Both parents were 26 years old, and their names have not yet been released.

Neighbors Recall Warning Signs

Neighbors reported that they had observed domestic violence in the apartment prior to the tragedy.

Neighbor Deborah McMillan, speaking to KTRK, said, “The little ones, you could tell they were hungry and thirsty. The oldest one is who hurts me the most because she was vivid in details of what she had witnessed with her parents.”

McMillan added that the mother had been reluctant to leave the home, despite prior domestic disputes, out of concern for the children.

Children Now Safe with Family

The three children are currently being cared for by their grandmother. Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the deaths and have asked anyone with information to come forward.
