Chicago, IL – A deadly robbery occurred Saturday evening in the Bridgeport neighborhood, leaving a 31-year-old woman dead, according to Chicago police. Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident and have not yet made any arrests.
Shooting Reported in Bridgeport Neighborhood
The shooting took place around 8:40 p.m. along West 27th Street near South Halsted Street, when multiple suspects allegedly attempted to take the victim’s belongings. Chicago Police Department reported that the victim was outside her residence when a male suspect in a dark-colored sedan shot her.
The victim, later identified as Gabriela Ochoa, was shot once in the chest and rushed to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Investigation Ongoing, No Arrests Made
Police confirmed that multiple individuals were involved in the attempted robbery. Authorities are actively seeking information from the public to help identify and apprehend the suspects.
Detectives stated that no one was in custody as of late Sunday, and the investigation is ongoing to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting.
