El Paso Police Seek Teens with ‘Edgar-Style Haircuts’ Accused of Armed Robbery in Gated Community

El Paso, TX – Authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying three teenage suspects accused of robbing another teen at gunpoint in East El Paso, an incident now highlighted as this week’s Crime of the Week by Crime Stoppers of El Paso.

Teen Victim Targeted While Riding Onewheel Skateboard

According to investigators, the robbery took place around 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 31, inside the Las Palmas gated community in the 11600 block of Montana Avenue. The victim, who was riding a Onewheel skateboard, encountered the suspects at the Turner Road entrance. Authorities say words were exchanged before the situation escalated.

The suspects allegedly chased the teen to the intersection of Red Palm Place and Jamaican Palm, where one of them pulled out a handgun and demanded the victim’s skateboard and shoes.

Suspects Caught on Camera Before Robbery

The suspects were captured on security video within the gated community shortly before the crime. Based on the footage provided by Crime Stoppers of El Paso, all three appear to be male teenagers.

The armed suspect is described as Hispanic, 17 to 18 years old, with a medium complexion and an average build. The other two are described as Hispanic, 15 to 17 years old, and both have “Edgar-style” haircuts—a hairstyle popular among some youth.

Community Urged to Help Identify Suspects

Police and Crime Stoppers are urging anyone with information to come forward. Tips can be submitted anonymously by calling (915) 566-8477 (TIPS) or online at the Crime Stoppers website. Authorities note that tipsters whose information leads to an arrest may qualify for a cash reward.
