Dog Turns Violent at Grooming Salon, Owner Leaves Without Helping

An employee of a dog grooming salon in Las Vegas was attempting to assist a colleague when the situation took a painful turn and she was attacked by a dog.

The owner of the dog ran away after they witnessed the incident, and now she is demanding that justice be served.

The visit to a dog grooming shop in Las Vegas was supposed to be a short one, lasting only five minutes, and it would consist of a nail trim.

Maria Pena-Nava, a dog groomer, stated that a client who she describes as a tall blonde woman and her dog Luna came in.

“We don’t really ask for information from the client because it’s going to be five minutes and they just wait there,” said Pena-Nava. “We don’t really ask for information from the client.”

She went on to explain that when her coworker brought Luna to the back of the house for the nail trim, the dog started to freak out and choked itself on the leash.

This is what Pena Nava had to say about the situation: “I wanted to calm the dog down, but before I could get closer, the dog jumped and bit me in the face.” Because she was just standing there, the owner was able to observe everything.

Despite the fact that she was bleeding and terrified, Pena-Nava covered her face. However, the thing that hit her the hardest was what the dog’s owner did after that.

“My coworker handed the dog over to the owner, and the owner hesitated for about five seconds on what to do, as if she saw what had happened clearly, and then she just walked off, she left the shop, and she never called,” she said. “The owner never called.”

Pena-Nava was concerned that this would happen to another groomer, so she filed a report with the Clark County Animal Protection Services.

“I want this person, like this dog, to be known for what happened, and I just like I want people to be safe, that’s what I want,” she said. “I want people to be safe.”

According to Pena–Nava, she was rushed to the hospital, where she received treatment. Although she is making a full recovery physically, she is still working on becoming emotionally healthy.

“For a period of time, I did not feel good about myself, and now I are beginning to feel like I am beginning to feel like myself again, but it was difficult,” she said.
