Ford has issued a recall in the United States after detecting a defect in the rearview camera of several of its models. The warning, filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), affects more than 200,000 vehicles from the Ford and Lincoln brands. Among the listed models are popular trucks and SUVs such as the Ford F-150, Bronco, Mustang, Explorer, EcoSport, etc., as well as Lincoln vehicles like the Continental, Navigator, Corsair, and Aviator. According to the report submitted to the NHTSA, the system defect can increase the risk of accidents, which has prompted this massive recall.

Ford recalls more than 200,000 vehicles
The automobile company Ford Motor Company has announced an official recall of more than 200,000 vehicles in the United States due to an issue with the software affecting the functioning of the rearview camera. This camera, installed in the rear part of the vehicles, helps the driver see what is behind the car when reversing. However, due to this failure, the camera may show two different errors that represent a road safety risk.

What solution does Ford offer?
Ford has stated that to resolve the issue, dealerships will update the rearview camera software at no cost to vehicle owners. The company also said it will begin sending notification letters starting July 28, informing owners about the recall and the steps to follow for the repair.
So far, Ford has not received any reports of accidents or injuries related to the defect. There are also no lawsuits connected to this recall at the moment, though similar cases have sometimes led to class action lawsuits when consumers report negligence or harm.
