Kingwood florist offering free floral arrangements for Hill Country flood victims

The widespread coverage of the terrible storm that ravaged Texas’ Hill Country moved Kimmie Gibson, a florist from the Kingwood region.

Reading about how quickly the water rose and how these poor girls and all of these victims were dying was all that I found particularly compelling. My heart was broken. It gets worse and worse as you read more items, Gibson said.

A number of camps, notably the all-girls Christian camp Camp Mystic, were located near the Guadalupe River, which was one of the most severely affected places. Sadly, it has been revealed that 27 Camp Mystic campers and counselors have died.

Gibson felt obliged to assist after finding out that one of the campers who had died liked flowers and aspired to be a florist. She made the decision to make funeral and flower arrangements for as many victims from the Hill Country as she could, in addition to the victims of Camp Mystic.

Gibson wrote on Instagram that she wanted to use her company, Glorious Kreations, to provide funeral flowers in order to ease someone’s burden. Approximately fifty florists have volunteered to assist thus far after she sent an invitation to other florists to join her endeavor.

Gibson is now making an effort to get in touch with needy families.

If you need help with funeral arrangements and your family was impacted by the Hill Country floods, you can reach Kimmie Gibson by email at or on Instagram at.
