MiamiIn a three-team deal that was finalized Monday, Norman Powell has joined the Miami Heat, John Collins is joining the Los Angeles Clippers, and Kevin Love and Kyle Anderson are joining the Utah Jazz.
At least one second-round draft selection, moving from the Clippers to Utah, is also included in the transaction.

Powell, a career 40% 3-point shooter, averaged 21.8 points per game for the Clippers last season. Last season, Anderson averaged 6.7 points in 25 games after being dealt to Miami, Love averaged 5.3 points in 23 games with the Heat, and Collins averaged 19 points in 40 games with the Jazz.
Powell is expected to provide Miami with much-needed shooting and scoring. Duncan Robinson, the team’s career 3-point leader, left the Heat this summer, and they finished 24th out of 30 teams in terms of points per game the previous season. Last week, Robinson agreed to a deal with the Detroit Pistons, which was formalized on Monday.
Love is an NBA champion, a five-time All-Star, a player who will probably be inducted into the Hall of Fame after his playing career is over, and he has indicated interest in staying with the Heat once his current deal expires following the 2025–2026 campaign.
After learning of the exchange, Love wrote on social media, “I never thought I’d be a math problem.” Greetings from the NBA.
In eight seasons, Collins has averaged 16 points per game; he spent the first two with Utah and the first six with Atlanta. After playing for San Antonio, Memphis, Minnesota, and Golden State before being traded to the Heat in the transaction that sent Jimmy Butler to the Warriors, Anderson will be joining his sixth franchise.
By acquiring Collins, we were able to address a position and a skill set that we believed need reinforcement, according to Clippers President of Basketball Operations Lawrence Frank. John is a highly athletic power forward in his prime who can also play center or small ball. As a runner, roller, and vertical threat, he excels in space in transition and scores at all three levels. His shooting extends the court, and his rebounds help him win the battle for possession. John is a welcome addition to the team.
