Firefighters from Mexico respond to Texas Hill Country flooding, marking an international response

INGRAM, TexasToday, the Texas Hill Country search and rescue operation is an international endeavor.

Mexican firefighters have arrived in Kerr County, Texas, to assist in the search for survivors and missing people following the devastating flash floods that occurred there on Independence Day.

More than 20 firefighters from Fundacin 911 and Ciudad Acua, Mexico are helping their neighbor to the north.

On Sunday morning, the team landed in the Hill Country and immediately set to work.

The Mountain Home Fire Department is assisting them.

To aid in the search for the several dozen Texans who are still missing, they are using drones and other technology in addition to having more boots on the ground.

Group leaders tell KPRC 2 that they collaborate closely with U.S. fire agencies to provide disaster response training.
