Officials are investigating the death of an incarcerated man at California State Prison, Los Angeles County (LAC), as a homicide, according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR).
On April 27 around 7:15 p.m., staff witnessed inmate Kenneth M. Wilson, 30, attacking fellow inmate Renee A. Rodriguez, 51, in the prison’s dayroom.
A convicted felon was fatally attacked inside a California state prison, with another inmate suspected of carrying out the assault, authorities confirmed this week.
The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) has initiated an investigation into the incident. “We take all acts of violence within our facilities seriously and are committed to ensuring the safety and security of both staff and inmates,” said, a CDCR spokesperson.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward. The investigation is ongoing, and no further details have been released at this time.
