Non-Residents to Pay for Beach Parking in Volusia

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. ((latestsports))– Visitors to Volusia County beaches will now face new parking fees under rules that went into effect on New Year’s Day.

Nonresidents will need to pay either daily or annual fees depending on how they plan to park:

  • Off-beach parking: $20 per day or $100 per year
  • On-beach parking: $30 per day or $150 per year

The Volusia County Council approved these changes in July, marking a significant shift for the county’s more than 60 beach parking lots. While some areas, like New Smyrna Beach, already had pay-to-park options, the new rules expand the fees to include county parks and parking lots along the coastline.

It’s important to note that the new ParkVolusia permits aren’t valid at all locations. Off-beach parking lots and boat ramps owned by municipalities, such as the following spots in New Smyrna Beach, are not covered:

  • 27th Street Oceanfront Park
  • Flagler Avenue Oceanfront Park
  • Esther Street Oceanfront Park
  • Grayce Barck North Beach Community Park
  • Marianne Clancy Park
  • North Causeway Boat Ramp
  • Swoop Boat Ramp

Additionally, Breakers Oceanfront Park in Daytona Beach, as well as Lighthouse Point Park and Smyrna Dunes Park, require separate access passes.

Residents and visitors can purchase daily passes through a ParkVolusia account or upon arrival at the parks, while annual passes must be obtained online or at a ParkVolusia office. Registration is available at ParkVolusia.org or via the Volusia Beaches app.

With these new fees, Volusia County hopes to better manage its parking resources and provide fair access for both residents and visitors enjoying its popular beaches
