BAYTOWN, Texas – An inquiry is currently underway after an 86-year-old woman was struck and killed in a car-pedestrian collision in Baytown on Monday.

The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. in the Walmart parking lot at 4900 block of Garth Road, according to officials.
Officials stated that they were called out in response to an auto-pedestrian accident.
When authorities came, they discovered an 86-year-old woman with severe injuries.
According to authorities, both bystanders and first responders took life-saving measures, but the woman died as a result of her injuries.
The driver involved in the incident remained on the site and is cooperating with investigators, according to authorities.
Officials did not release the victim’s name pending notification of next of kin.
