San Jose, CA – Police have announced the arrests of seven individuals in connection with a violent smash-and-grab robbery that left an 88-year-old jewelry store owner injured and shook the local community. The crime took place on September 5 at Kim Hung Jewelry on Aborn Road.

San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan called the incident an organized act of violence:
“Seven people are in custody, seven suspects who brutalized an elderly man, destroyed a family business, and terrorized an entire community. This was not a crime of desperation; this was organized theft and violence.”
Police continue to search for remaining suspects and urged anyone at large to turn themselves in. Authorities stressed the ongoing commitment to combatting the smash-and-grab trend spreading across the Bay Area.
