5 Injured, Including Infant, in 3-car Crash on Point Lookout Road in Leonardtown

On Friday, April 4, 2025, at around 2:55 p.m., police, firefighters, and emergency medical services were dispatched to the intersection of Point Lookout Road and Fairgrounds Road in Leonardtown for a motor vehicle collision with unknown injuries.

Before responders got on the scene, 911 callers reported three automobiles, one of which was trapped and included an infant.

The situation was upgraded to a serious motor vehicle collision with entrapment, prompting additional first responders to arrive.

When crews arrived, they discovered the crash on Point Lookout Road and Hanover Drive, which involved three automobiles with no entrapment and five injured patients.

A helicopter was called to land nearby for a 40-year-old man who had lost consciousness.

Maryland State Police Helicopter Trooper 7 landed at the Fairgrounds and took the adult male to a nearby trauma centre.

Emergency medical responders transferred four people, including a four-month-old, to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital for additional treatment or minor injuries.

Troopers from the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack have responded and are investigating the crash.

Point Lookout Road will see lengthy delays.
