ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – At 10:52 p.m. on Saturday, Florida Highway Patrol responded to a fatal multi-vehicle incident on Central Florida Parkway and Whitley Place. According to officials, a 2024 Toyota Camry and a 2024 BMW M2 were eastbound on Central Florida Parkway in the outside lane east of Whitley Place.
According to reports, the Camry was ahead of the BMW, and both were going faster than the posted speed limit. “The BMW was attempting to overtake the Camry by changing lanes from the outside to the inside line,” according to FHP officials.
As the BMW attempted to re-enter the outer lane, it collided with the front of the Camry.
According to officials, the accident led both vehicles to veer off the road onto the south shoulder. As a result, the Toyota Camry’s front end collided with a light pole and proceeded south, eventually coming to a halt after colliding with many trees.
The back passenger of the Camry was ejected. “As the BMW traveled in a southerly direction on the shoulder, the front of the vehicle struck several trees,” according to FHP investigators.
