SAN ANTONIO – A three-vehicle incident in Blanco County on Wednesday afternoon resulted in multiple injuries and the deaths of three persons, according to an official post. One of the victims is a four-year-old child.
near around midday, emergency personnel were dispatched to Highway 281 near Ranch Road 1323, approximately three miles north of Johnson City, for a major accident. Upon arrival, responders discovered six badly injured victims, several of whom were pinned inside their cars.
According to the Texas Highway Patrol, an automobile failed to surrender the right of way when attempting to turn onto the highway. It collided with a southbound car, which spun and collided with a third vehicle, according to officials.
Three people perished at the scene of the accident: 71-year-old Larry Higgins, 27-year-old Annett Morales, and 4-year-old Carlos Morales IV, according to officials. The ages of the other three injured people are unknown; two were flown to a regional trauma center by helicopter, while the third was carried by ambulance.
The size of the catastrophe forced 45 “public safety units” to arrive, including ambulances, helicopters, and “command units.”
State investigators are still looking into the incident.
