2-Year-Old Girl Rescued After Being Abducted by Armed Group from Grand Boulevard Residence

An armed group took a 2-year-old girl from her apartment in the city’s Grand Boulevard neighborhood early Wednesday morning. The girl has since been found.

On Wednesday night, Chicago cops said they had found Attumn Shelley. No more information was given out.

Just before 5 a.m., police said three people armed with guns broke into the building and then an apartment unit in the 4800 block of South Michigan Avenue. Police say there was a woman the child knew and two guys in the group. They took the child and then stole the child’s grandmother’s gray Nissan Kick with the license plate ER12467, along with her purse and house keys. They then drove off with the child in the stolen car.

The grandma of Attumn’s father, who did not want to be named, said that the child was taken by her mentally ill mother.

The grandmother told them that the group broke into her house to steal Autumn and that her car was taken.

“They caught Attumn with a gun and put a gun to the heads of my sister and brother.” “There were about four guys and the child’s mother, and they just took her,” the grandmother said.

The grandmother said she is in charge of her granddaughter and has an emergency order of protection against Attumn’s mother.

“She wants to kill herself. My granddaughter was the child she tried to hurt. They tried to kill her. “That’s why I have her now,” she said.

She also said that soon after being kidnapped, she got an email that was basically a ransom note telling her not to call the cops or the media or do anything else. She said she did it anyway because she was afraid for the safety of her granddaughter.

“At this point, I just want my grandbaby and I want her in jail because I’m scared she’s going to hurt my grandbaby,” she said.
